Every feature that protects your data — the 30-day trash, version history, import and export — is free and always will be. The only thing you can pay for is the convenience of not having to move your sessions yourself.
No account, no trial, no card.

Everything above, plus automatic sync.
Paying is what keeps the servers on and the extension being worked on. It is not required to keep your data safe — that part is free on purpose.
Buying happens inside the extension, from the "Unlock sync" button — that's how the purchase gets attached to your account. Install it first, sign in, then unlock. Refundable within 30 days.

This genuinely works, it is not a crippled version, and we would rather tell you about it than have you find out later and feel misled. It takes about a minute, works in either direction, and you can repeat it as often as you like.
On the machine that has your sessions, open TabDiary and click Export. You get one JSON file containing every session, every folder, and your trash.
Move that file to the other machine however you like — cloud drive, USB stick, email it to yourself.
On the other machine, open TabDiary and click Import. Pick the file. Everything appears, folder structure intact.
Import adds to what is already there rather than replacing it, so running this in both directions is safe. The same file is also a real backup — keep a copy somewhere and you can restore your whole library on any machine, at any time, without an account.
Export and import move your data. They do not keep two machines in step. You have to remember to do it, you have to do it in one direction at a time, and if you edit sessions on both machines between exports, the two copies simply drift apart — nothing merges them. Sync is what removes all of that. That is the whole difference, and it is why sync is the only thing behind a price.
Import also reads OneTab and Session Buddy export files, so switching to TabDiary does not mean leaving years of saved tabs behind.
No. Everything that protects your data — trash, version history, import, export — stays free. Charging for the ability to not lose your work would contradict the entire reason this extension exists.
Yes. Not per year, not per device. Running sync costs roughly two cents per person per year, so one payment covers a normal account for longer than this extension is likely to exist. That is the honest reason this can be a one-off price while the alternatives charge $19 to $72 every year.
A one-time price does mean one thing should be said plainly: it buys sync for the lifetime of the product, not an eternal guarantee. If sync ever had to be shut down, nothing of yours is trapped — every session already lives on your own disk, and Export hands you the whole library in one file.
There is one, and you will almost certainly never meet it: 200 MB per account. For scale, a heavy user with two thousand saved sessions — around fifty thousand tabs, version history included — sits at roughly 44 MB. The cap is about eight times that.
It exists for one reason: a one-time price cannot cover someone using sync as unlimited cloud storage. Capping it is what lets everyone else pay once instead of every year.
If you ever did reach it, nothing is deleted and nothing breaks. Every session stays on your device, everything already synced stays synced, and only new sessions stop uploading — until you remove or export a few, at which point syncing resumes on its own. There is also a per-session ceiling of about 700 tabs, which is a hard limit of the storage service rather than our choice; a session that big still works locally, and splitting it in two lets it sync again.
None of this applies to the free version. Sessions you keep on your own machine are unlimited, because they cost us nothing.
Click Export and you have all of it in a plain JSON file you can read yourself. Nothing is locked in a format only we can open.
No. Sign-in exists only for sync. Without it, TabDiary never talks to a server at all.
Email thanhtrung.ep.work@gmail.com within 30 days of buying and you'll get one. No form, no reason required.
A refund switches sync off for your account — that's the part you paid for. Nothing is deleted. Every session stays on your device exactly as it is, and Export still works, so you can take everything with you. You can buy again later if you change your mind.
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, so the refund goes back through them to the card or account you paid with.
Because sync costs money to run for as long as you use it. An unlimited window would mean someone could sync for two years and then ask for the $14.49 back — and honestly, 30 days is more than enough to find out whether it's useful to you.
